August Advocacy Luncheon

Stone Belt’s Advocacy Luncheon Series

Outreach to Lawmakers: How, When and Why

Wednesday, August 19 from 12:30- 1:30 pm via Zoom

Reaching out to lawmakers and their staff is essential in grassroots advocacy. While that may sound intimidating, it doesn’t have to be. Lawmakers need to learn from you to understand the impact their decisions have on you and those you care about. So it’s important that you reach out to them to share your story and to ask for their support.

Spend an hour with a panel of lawmakers and advocates learning ways you can most effectively reach out to your elected officials. Also, learn about the most important advocacy issues at the state and national level, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on programs and funding for people with disabilities. You’ll come away with information and ideas that you can easily put to use and understand why you need to do so.
