I Am You Monologues - Saturday March 6 and Sunday March 7
Now in its second season, I AM YOU is a night of dramatic monologues, written and performed by individuals with disabilities. The event provides individuals with the opportunity to showcase their talents and to invite the community to learn about the experience of disability and ability. First performed in 2008 at the Bloomington Playwrights Project (BPP), the event drew a full house. This year, Stone Belt is pleased to again partner with the BPP to bring the event to a professional theater stage. This event will be attended by hundreds of community members over the two day engagement.
Excellence Awards - March 24
Celebrated in March as part of Disabilities Awareness Month, Stone Belt’s Excellence Awards event recognizes the outstanding achivements of five staff members who have truly excelled in their work supporting individuals with disabilities. Now in its fifth year, this event is attended by 75 Stone Belt and Community Leaders. The Excellence Awards includes a catered luncheon and awards ceremony followed by media recognition of all winners and corporate sponsors.
Annual Awards Celebration - Monday, June 28
Held in the Auditorium of Bloomington High School North, this event will be attended by 400+ community members. This annual celebration recognizes the extraordinary achievements and contributions of Stone Belt clients, staff, community partners and volunteers. Features include the awards ceremony and a catered reception, followed by media recognition of all winners and corporate sponsors.
Belt Out Loud
This event will bring together well-known performing and visual artists to celebrate the tremendous impacts that Stone Belt has on the community. This festive evening will be in the style of a coffee house/cabaret show, featuring performances by local musicians, comedians, actors, and Stone Belt clients. There will be a silent auction featuring works by sought after community artists and Stone Belt artists. There will also be a live auction featuring original art works created collaboratively by community and Stone Belt artists. Audience members will be treated to a gourmet coffee and dessert bar.
