Stone Belt strives to be the provider of choice for individuals with developmental disabilities in south central Indiana. Stone Belt is a not-for-profit organization offering a full range of programs and services for over 1,000 consumers in Monroe, Lawrence, Owen, Bartholomew and surrounding counties.

Stone Belt was founded in 1958 by a small group of parents seeking services for their children. Stone Belt's services are accredited by CARF (formerly the Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). We are an affiliate of The Arc of Indiana, NISH (formerly the National Industries for the Severely Handicapped), IN-ARF (formerly the Indiana Association of Rehabilitation Facilities) and United Way of Monroe County.

Specializing in...

Residential Services: Support is provided through various living situations to promote self-sufficiency in the community. Residential support can be provided in any of Stone Belt’s 11 group homes, respite care, or in supported living sites.

Day Program Services: Provides support in gaining and maintaining community employment and teaching daily living skills both in classroom and community settings.

Manufacturing Services: sProvides meaningful facility-based work with competitive wages for subcontract work (light production, light manufacturing, assembly), as well as prime manufacturing for handcrafted leather specialty products.

Milestones Clinical Services: Provides behavioral and psychological support services to address individuals’ mental health needs. Specialized services are also available to address the needs of clients with developmental disabilities and at-risk children. Staff include a psychiatrist, licensed clinicians and behavior analysts.

Milestones Health Services: Provides Case Management, Nursing Services and Speech Therapy to provide a variety of supports to individuals in their quest for a healthier and happier life. Staff include registered nurses, a speech pathologist and case managers.

LARC, STONE BELT OF LAWRENCE COUNTY
LARC, Stone Belt of Lawrence County, has provided services in the Lawrence County area for persons with developmental disabilities since 1977. LARC's programs include like skills enrichment, employment services and manufacturing services. Residential services are also offered in Lawrence County.

SWEET OWEN INDUSTRIES, STONE BELT OF OWEN COUNTY
Sweet Owen Industries, Stone Belt of Owen County has provided services in their area since 1988. Programs at Sweet Owen Industries include life skills enrichment, employment services and manufacturing services. Residential services are also offered in Owen County.

STONE BELT OF BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY
Stone Belt of Bartholomew County has offered services since 2000. Programs offered there include employment services, life skills enrichment and respite services.
